Rokeby has been appointed by Royal London Asset Management to manage the development of a new 125 bed Premier Inn hotel and a 3,820 sqft restaurant.

Work commenced on site in March 2020 and completion is anticipated in early 2021.

A new 125 bedroom hotel is to be constructed for Premier Inn on the ground floor and five upper floors on the site of the Pink Coconut nightclub, originally constructed in 1867 as the Grand Concert Hall and two Italianate hotel buildings on West Street and Middle Street.

Clad in stone, with internal courtyards, the building includes balustrading, bronze metal panels and coloured window frames which set to further enrich the appearance of the building and street scene.

Restaurant

A new 3,820 sqft restaurant is to be constructed at 78 West Street which will provide 2,153 sqft at ground floor and 1,668 sqft in the lower ground floor.

The unit will be constructed to a shell specification behind a stone and glass façade.
